Two sisters and one little dog with a big dream to start their own business asked if we could help bring their vision for an upscale pet accessories store on Etsy to life. They would start with selling attachable hand-sewn flowers, bow ties and custom collars, but planned to expand their business to offer products for people, as well as home and garden goods. They wanted it to have a kind of “country chic” vibe. Out Front Brands reviewed their business plan, products and budget and helped them build a brand and marketing strategy they could grow and sustain. We designed a simple, yet elegent logo that included their dog Olivia (a requirement), as well as a style guide that featured a broad selection of colors to support their product expansion goals. We also designed a suite of print collateral that included a thank you card and helped them find a budget-friendly printing source. They also needed a website that could grow with their busienss. Most importantly, they needed a robust social marketing campaign as well as training in order to be able to support their channels independently. Based on their goals and target audience, we recommended social channels that made the most sense, with a primary focus on Instagram and Facebook. We also helped them create a sensible advertising budget.
Not only did Livy & Company recently celebrate their 100th sale two months ahead of plan, they have been able to track sales driven directly from Instagram. They maintain a 5-star review status on Etsy with 33% of their customers responding. (That’s HUGE). What’s best of all, is that by consistantly remembering to thank customers during the shipment confirmation process and asking them to send photos of their dogs wearing product…they have created a steady incoming stream of content for social posts.
